This document will update you on some of the most amazing updates in Electron POS v114.0.5

POS updates


1. Right-based POS configurations :

  1. We have updated the 'Bill/KOT preferred configuration' and 'Bill/KOT print' options to align with 'POS Configuration' user rights. Here's how it works :



    1. READ right : Billers can view the Bill/KOT preferred configuration and Bill/KOT print options.
    2. WRITE right : Billers can view and modify both.
    3. NO rights : Billers cannot view the Bill/KOT preferred configuration but can still view the Bill/KOT print options.

2. On demand billing option for advance orders :

  1. We have added a new option that allows you to manually create bills for both online and offline advance orders, even if they are fully paid and marked as memo status.

  2. Creating bills from Memo : For offline orders, you will now need to manually generate a bill after the settlement process. When this feature is activated, bills for settled orders will not be created automatically. The biller will need to create the bill from the advance order grid manually. The "Create Bill" button will only appear if the payment for that order has been fully received or if the delivery date has passed.

  3. Bulk Bill Creation : By clicking the "Bulk Create Bill" button, a popup will appear, allowing your biller to decide whether to print the bill(s), with the print option initially unchecked.

3. Due payments post settlement : advance orders

  1. If offline advance orders are settled with a different payment method, billers can now update the payment method to "due-payment" even after settlement. This due payment settlement option would be available in offline memo advance orders.

  2. This update is based on the user rights assigned to the biller, ensuring flexibility and control over payment corrections.

  3. If an order is fully settled with due payment, the due payment option will not be visible.

  4. In the bulk settlement option, the due payment option will still be available for selection.

4. UI enhancements :

  1. We’ve enhanced the user experience by standardizing various popups into side drawers on the following pages :

    • Language Profile
    • Billing User Profile
    • Withdrawal Listing
    • Waiter Calling Device
    • Special Note
    • 'Info' screen on the live view : Online order card

5. Order rejection flow UI enhancements :

  1. We’ve enhanced the order rejection and cancellation journey for Zomato orders, guiding your billers to avoid unnecessary cancellations that may incur penalties.
  2. Guided Rejection & Cancellation : Billers are prompted with specific reasons to reduce cancellations.
  3. Separate UI : A dedicated UI for each rejection flow for easier management.

6. Zomato Store status notifications :

  1. To ensure your biller addresses store status alerts promptly, we’ve added the following enhancements:

    • Actionable Notifications : Two CTA buttons are now available directly on the notification toaster to turn the store ON or stay offline.
    • Persistent Alerts : The notification toaster will buzz continuously for up to 5 seconds until an action is taken, making it unavoidable.



      This update ensures critical store status changes are attended to without delay.

 

Owners Dashboard


1. Gift card-based billing :

  1. We’re excited to introduce a new service that enables billers to create Gift cards redeemable across all your outlets.
    1. Gift card Mapping : Fully optional and customizable across outlets.
    2. Customer Benefits : Customers can redeem gift cards at the POS using their gift card credit.
    3. Rights-Based Access : The gift card-based billing operates on a rights-based system.
  2. To activate this feature, you can purchase it from the Marketplace.
  3. The gift cards can be created from the owner's dashboard : Owners dashboard → CRM → Gift card

  5. Important terms :
    1. Code Generation : Choose between manually entering a gift card or using system-generated codes.
    2. Expiry Date : Pre-define expiration dates for your Gift cards.
    3. Redemption Type : Set redemption to single or multiple use to manage Gift card usability at the POS.
    4. Validation Type :
      • Runtime Validation : Update validations in real-time during billing.
      • Strict Validation : Require confirmation via email before redeeming Gift cards.


  6. Gift card can be redeemed at your POS as shown : 



  7. You can view the Gift card Redemption Report on the dashboard. Path : Owners dashboard → Reports → Other reports → Gift card Transaction Report



  8. You can control whether you wish to show the Gift card Transaction report or not to your franchise/restaurant users. Path : Owners dashboard → User management → Admin management



2. Online Ordering Widget : Multiple PG

  1. You can now enable multiple payment gateways on your Online Ordering Widget URL, allowing your customers to choose from a variety of payment options for a more convenient checkout experience.


     

3. Check current store status :

  1. We’ve introduced a new Show Store Status option to help you easily view the current status of all listed outlets, addressing the need for better visibility and control across your stores. This option has been added on the following pages : Menu Trigger & Store on/off under 'All Restaurant' and 'HO' management


4. Multiple image upload : Zomato

  1. You can now upload multiple images on the Zomato portal right from the Petpooja dashboard. This includes images for various sections, like Food shot, Cover image, Fullback cover image, etc.


  2. Path : Owners dashboard → Menu management → Menu & Discounts → All in one menu → Zomato menu → Upload image → Add image

5. Copy discounts to multiple outlets : 

  1. We’ve introduced a new "Copy Discount to Outlet" button, allowing you to copy active discounts to multiple outlets effortlessly.

  2. Key Highlights :

    1. Copy discounts to up to 30 outlets simultaneously.

    2. Only active discounts under the Point of Sale discount type can be copied.


6. Improved flexibility in item assigning in discounts :

  1. We’ve added the ability to export and import discount categories/items for seamless discount assignment.

  2. Export or import data directly from the discount edit page.


7. Newly added user-right : Menu trigger

  1. You can now decide whether you wish to allow your franchise/restaurant users to perform the menu trigger activity or not.

  2. Path to give rights : Owners dashboard → User management → Admin management


8. Updates in Addon management file : 

  1. You can now manage nearly all aspects of addon item management directly from the Addon Management Export File.

    Key Features :

    • Configure minimum and maximum addon item counts.
    • Set single or multiple selection options.

9. Parent category : Base menu file : 

  1. An option to manage the parent category of any menu item is now available in the Base menu export/import file.


Marketplace Services


1. Kitchen Display System :

  1. Kitchen staff can now easily view and differentiate online order tags such as Zomato Train Order, Zomato Instant Order,  Zomato Bulk Order, Swiggy Bolt Order, Open Box Cake Order, and more directly on the KDS dashboard, ensuring better order management and efficiency.
  2. The above-mentioned tags will be visible in both the KDS : Windows as well as Android.

2. New Integration : Bajaj EDC

  1. Petpooja POS now supports direct integration with Bajaj EDC devices.

    Key Benefits :

    • Seamlessly connect your existing Bajaj EDC device with Petpooja POS.
    • Streamline and simplify payment reconciliation directly on the POS.

    This integration enhances efficiency and accuracy in payment management.

  2. How It Works :

    • Billers can invoke the payment request directly from the billing terminal, similar to the existing PineLabs integration.
    • The Bajaj EDC device processes the payment, ensuring smooth and efficient reconciliation on the POS.

3. Posting updated bill details to the loyalty partners :

  1. To improve reconciliation on loyalty partners' dashboards, Petpooja will now repush complete order details to all integrated loyalty partners for any transaction updates, such as bill amount changes or payment type updates. This ensures loyalty partners can adjust loyalty points accurately.

    Note : This feature does not apply to Xeno loyalty integration.

4. Online Order Acceptance application v5.6 :

  1. Order Type Visibility
    1. Order Type Tags : Tags have been added to order cards to clearly differentiate between dine-in and other order types. This ensures staff can easily identify and follow appropriate procedures for each order.



  2. Print Order Details

    • New printing option : A feature to print order details has been introduced to assist kitchen staff with order preparation. This feature allows for better communication regarding order specifics.



    • Path :
      • Configure printer : Menu →  " Settings → "Do you want to print the orders?"
  3. Increased Order Limit

    • Higher pending order limit : The pending order limit has been increased, enabling restaurants with high order volumes to manage operations more efficiently and minimize bottlenecks.

Inventory Management


1. Restrict purchase requests for specific time period :

  1. We have introduced a new configuration : 'Restrict purchase requests for specific time periods.'
  1. Feature Highlights :
    • Restrict purchase requests during a defined time window.
    • Displays an error message if a request is attempted during restricted hours.

    • Streamlines purchase processes during critical times.
    • Enhances control over inventory workflows.

    How to Enable :

    • Go to Inventory Settings.
    • Enable "Restrict Purchase Requests for Specific Time Period" and set the desired time frame.

2. Disable addons on online platforms : real-time stock management

  1. We’ve added a new configuration on the POS to allow you to mark addon items as 'out of stock' when inventory is unavailable, ensuring accurate stock tracking and preventing orders for unavailable items.
