Delivery Charges Now Available in Request for Purchase

Delivery Charges Now Available in Request for Purchase

We are excited to introduce a new feature that allows users to add delivery charges in the Request for Purchase (RFP) process. This enhancement provides flexibility in managing delivery costs, whether as a lump sum or a percentage-based charge.

Feature Overview

Flow 1: Default Visibility of Delivery Charges in RFP

  • Without any configuration, delivery charges will now be visible in the Request for Purchase.

Flow 2: Configurable Delivery Charges for Kitchen and Restaurant Orders

  • If a user wants to apply delivery charges when raising a purchase order to a kitchen or a restaurant, they can now do so in a configurable manner. Both kitchens and restaurants can set delivery charges (with fix taxes on delivary charges)  either as a lump sum or as a percentage of the invoice amount.

How to Enable Flow 2

To enable and configure delivery charges, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Kitchen/Restaurant > Inventory Settings > RFP Settings.

  2. Locate the option: “Would you like to fix your other charges if a restaurant or kitchen sends you a purchase order?”

  3. Select “Yes” to enable delivery charge settings.

  4. Choose one of the following options:

Option 1: Apply Uniform Delivery Charges

    • Set a single delivery charge across all states and cities.

    • The charge can be applied as either a lump sum or a percentage of the total invoice amount.

    • Example: If a restaurant in Delhi places an order with a kitchen, a fixed delivery charge (e.g., ₹500) or a percentage-based charge (e.g., 5% of the total invoice) can be applied.

    Option 2: State-Based Delivery Charges

    • Configure different delivery charges for specific states.

    • Users can apply either a lump sum or a percentage-based charge for all restaurants or kitchens within a particular state.

    • Example: If applying charges for Gujarat, the user will see all restaurant and kitchen units within Gujarat and can apply a uniform or percentage-based delivery charge to them. For instance, a 3% delivery charge for all restaurants in Gujarat while setting a fixed ₹400 delivery charge for all restaurants in Maharashtra.

    • Customizing for Specific Restaurants: If the user wants to apply different delivery charges to individual restaurants within a state, they can do so by unticking the restaurant from the "Apply to All" option. This allows them to set specific delivery charges for each restaurant separately based on their preferences.
