Opening Stock Upload Now Available on Raw Material Master Page
We’ve introduced a significant enhancement for adding opening stock during the raw material master setup process. This change allows for a more efficient workflow when setting up new raw materials in your system.
Key Improvements:
Direct Opening Stock Addition from Raw Material Master Page:
- When creating a new raw material master entry or if an entry has been added but the opening stock upload option is pending, users can now directly add the opening stock and specify its average purchase price from the raw material master page itself.
- This eliminates the need to navigate to separate pages to add opening stock, simplifying the setup process.

Upload Option via Excel Sheet:
Restriction on Re-Adding Opening Stock:
- Once an opening stock entry is made for a raw material, users will no longer be able to re-add or modify it directly via the raw material master page.
Benefits:
- Increased Efficiency: By consolidating the steps involved in raw material setup, users can complete inventory initialization more swiftly.
- Improved Accuracy: Since opening stock and average purchase price can now be entered directly on the raw material master page or via a single upload, the process is more straightforward, reducing the chance for data entry errors.
- Seamless Workflow: Previously, users could only add opening stock from the closing stock page, which required additional steps and disrupted workflow. This improvement enables a more streamlined experience, allowing users to complete the setup on one page.

Known point
Single Opening Stock Entry with Automatic Conversion:
For items with separate purchase and consumption units (e.g., purchase unit: pkt, consumption unit: piece), users no longer need to enter stock in both units.
Instead, users simply enter the opening stock quantity in the consumption unit, and the system will automatically convert and reflect the stock in the purchase unit based on predefined conversion rates.
Example Scenario:
Consider an item like Aloo Tikki with:
Purchase unit: pkt
Consumption unit: piece
Conversion rate: 1 pkt = 100 pieces
If the current stock is 2 pkts and 35 pieces, users will enter the opening stock as 235 pieces. The system will then convert this to display the stock as 2 pkts and 35 pieces automatically, based on the conversion rate.
