We are pleased to announce the launch of the Barcode Generation feature, developed to enhance the labeling and tracking of raw materials with flexibility and precision.
This feature enables users to generate barcodes for raw materials, embedding key information to support inventory control, traceability, and product identification. The barcode can include predefined and custom data fields, allowing for tailored labeling solutions.
When creating a barcode, users can include the following fields. Most of these are automatically pre-filled if the data is available in the Raw Material Master:
Outlet Name
Raw Material Name
Sales Price
Unit
HSN Code
The following fields need to be entered at the time of barcode creation:
Batch Number
Production Date
Expiry Date
Weight
In addition to predefined fields, users can add up to 8 custom fields to meet specific labeling needs.
Before generating barcodes, users must configure the barcode template. Configuration options include:
Barcode color selection
Field selection (choose which fields to display)
Font size and bold settings for each field
Field positioning (left, right, top, corner)
Alignment format: choose between columns or rows
In row mode, users can define how many fields appear per line
A live preview is available on the right-hand side during configuration
After configuring the template, users can generate barcodes in two ways:
Manual Selection: Select raw materials one by one
Bulk Upload: Upload an Excel file containing raw material details
Once raw materials are added, the barcodes are ready to print.
When Weight is included as a field in the barcode, the system can embed weight information directly into the barcode value. Here's how it works:
For example:
Entered weight: 15
Barcode prefix (from configuration): #10
No. of characters to calculate weight: 5
Weight Denominator: 1000
Raw material base barcode: 5
Barcode Output: #10505000
Explanation:
The last 5 characters 05000
represent the weight multiplied by the denominator (5 × 1000 = 5000 → shown as 05000).
When scanned, this barcode translates into a quantity of 5.
This approach allows seamless integration of weight into your barcode logic for accurate stock handling.
Users can print using:
Label Printers
Regular Printers
During printing, users can define:
Barcode width and height
Label size
Note: For the best printing experience, it is recommended to open the generated PDF in Microsoft Edge. Other browsers may not support the formatting correctly.
