Enhanced Configuration for Consumption on Saved Bills
New feature that gives restaurant owners more control over the consumption of inventory related to saved bills. This enhancement introduces a flexible configuration that allows you to decide when the consumption of menu items occurs, expanding beyond the previous limitation of only allowing consumption at the printed or e-bill status.
Previous Functionality:
- Until now, consumption of menu items was only triggered once the bill reached the Printed or E-Bill status. This restriction meant that any items on saved bills were not counted towards inventory consumption.
What’s New:
- We have added a new configuration option to manage consumption for saved bills. Now, based on your operational preferences, you can choose when consumption happens, ensuring that your inventory accurately reflects real-time usage.
New Configuration Options:
Owners can now select from the following options for saved bills:
Default (Applicable for print or Ebill status):(by default selected for all user)
- This keeps the original functionality, where consumption is only triggered when the bill is either printed or converted into an e-bill.
Online Orders:
- Enables consumption for all saved bills related to online orders (e.g., orders placed via third-party apps or website integrations).
Offline Orders:
- Enables consumption for all saved bills related to offline orders (e.g., dine-in, takeaway).
Both Online and Offline Orders:
- Enables consumption for all types of saved bills (both online and offline orders), ensuring that your inventory reflects item usage from any order source, even before the bill is printed.
How to Enable the New Setting:
- Navigate to the Inventory Settings in your system.
- Look for the option titled "Add the type for which you require consumption on saved bills."
- Select the desired option (None, Online Orders, Offline Orders, Both) to control how consumption is handled for saved bills.
- Save your changes.
Benefits:
- Real-time Inventory Updates: With this new feature, you can now ensure that your inventory updates accurately based on when items are saved to a bill, preventing discrepancies between physical stock and the system.
- Improved Inventory Accuracy: By allowing consumption on saved bills, you reduce the risk of under-reporting stock usage, which helps in avoiding stockouts and provides more accurate reporting.Mostly use in auto acceptance of order.
No Changes to Modification, Cancel, and Update Functionality:
- Modifications, Cancellations, and Updates will continue to function exactly as they do for printed or e-bill status.
- There are no changes in the way these actions affect consumption. Whether a bill is modified, canceled, or updated, it will behave the same as it currently does under the printed or e-bill status.
Thumb Rule:
- Once the bill is saved, all subsequent statuses, including Printed or E-Bill, will automatically trigger consumption.
- If this new configuration is enabled, the consumption will work for saved bills and continue to function for all post-saved statuses (e.g., printed or e-billed).
